The Abdullah Gül University (AGU) students were given SAP training on the leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. The students who completed the training with success also received certificates.
The training was held for the third-year students of the AGU Industrial Engineering program within the scope of the Production and Service Systems Analysis course, led by Industrial Engineering Chair Prof. İbrahim Akgün and RA Betül Kayışoğlu.
Within the framework of the cooperation between the Industrial Engineering Department and Spectrum Bilişim, one of the leader companies in the sale, consultancy, and support of SAP solutions, Mecit Telis, Gülçin Aktemur, Artuğ Özyürek, and Özlem Ercan from the Kayseri branch of Spectrum Bilişim ran the training program.
For four weeks, three hours a day, the AGU participants acquired basic SAP knowledge and details of the SAP production module.
Spectrum Bilişim installed the SAP software on the computers in the Industrial Engineering Simulation and Optimization Laboratory and the students' personal computers. Thus, the participants could learn by doing in a face-to-face or online mode.
At the end of the training program, a certificate ceremony was also organized at the Senate Room. At the ceremony, Murat Mıdık, General Manager of Spectrum Bilişim, said that leading companies in the top 20 sectors of Turkey use SAP and the SAP consultancy is the most needed type of consultancy for companies.
Mıdık also expressed that consultancy companies currently need a lot more consultants and that's why, besides teaching SAP to students, their company also tries to introduce the job of SAP consultancy to them.
Mıdık suggested that Industrial Engineering graduates could opt for SAP consultancy as a career and added that Spectrum Bilişim would continue to support them in this regard by giving priority in internship and employment to the AGU's Industrial Engineering graduates who completed the SAP training.
Lastly, Mıdık thanked Industrial Engineering Chair Prof. İbrahim Akgün, Dr. Gökmen Kara, and RA Betül Kayışoğlu for facilitating the cooperation and expressed their desire to continue it.
Industrial Engineering Chair Prof. İbrahim Akgün also stated the importance of the SAP training for the self-improvement and career plans of the students and thanked the Spectrum Bilişim team for their contribution.
Prof. Akgün also shared the desire to continue working together within the framework of different business models.
Afterward, the 19 students in the training program received their certificates from Spectrum Bilişim General Manager Murat Mıdık. The certificate ceremony ended after thank you plaques were given to the contributors of the training program.
