Abdullah Gül University (AGU) Industrial Engineering students joined the 39th Operations Research and Industrial Engineering (OR/IE) National Congress to take part in the students' project competition, and presented their work in the session for Industry-Focused Student Projects.

A team of senior students from the Industrial Engineering composed of Lütfiye Aykaç, Muhammed Mustafa Öztürk and Muhammed Batuhan Andıç entered the OR/IE Students' Project Competition with their project on public transportation.

The team applied with their capstone project entitled "Optimization and Simulation of Smart Charging Devices Used for Urban Public Transportation," and became one of the 8 shortlisted projects. The project was carried out with the cooperation of Kayseri Transportation Inc., and under the academic supervision of Prof. İbrahim Akgün and company supervision of Muhammed Şafak Pınar.

Beyza Ünal, Yakup Kapar and Rabia Işılak, sophomore students at Industrial Engineering, also joined the congress and presented their study completed for the Mathematical Modeling.

In the Industry-Focused Student Projects session, Beyza Ünal presented "Distribution Center Placement Problem," Yakup Kapar "Scheduling Problem to Reduce Two-Dimensional Waste and Machine Calibration Time in Textile," Rabia Işılak "Waste Problem in Corrugated Paperboard Production."
