The founder of the first network of mentors and experts in Turkey, Mentors Network Turkey (MNT), angel investor and mentor Mehmet Onarcan said that entrepreneurs should face the competition.
Onarcan gave the seminar entitled "Girişimcilikte Başarı için: Girişimcilik Ekosistemi, Melek Yatırım ve Mentorluk" (For Success in Entrepreneurship: Entrepreneurship Ecosystem, Angel Investment and Mentorship), held by Industrial Engineering and Technology Transfer Office at Abdullah Gül University (AGU).
Onarcan gave the seminar at the Rectorate conference hall and said that prospective entrepreneurs could receive support from universities, public supports, investors, funds and big companies.
Onarcan also mentioned the angel investment concept, which means entrepreneurs investing in a business opportunity in order to help that business grow or develop by providing capital, and mentors network, which is composed of guides helping juniors to direct their careers by giving advice.
Pointing to the fact that angel investment and mentor networks grow day by day, Onarcan stressed that entrepreneurs need mentorship more than investment most of the time.
He stated that it is a must now to make a difference in entrepreneurship and added: "Competition may come from anywhere. Same ideas are developed simultaneously everywhere now. For that reason, it is a necessity to move fast and face the competition."
Many students joined the seminar. Onarcan also answered students' questions.
