Abdullah Gül University (AGU) hosted Bilim Kahramanları Derneği's (Science Heroes Association) First Lego League Jr. event. The theme of this year's fair was "Boomtown Build."

The fair, entitled "Minik Bilim Kahramanları Buluşuyor" (Little Science Heroes Meet), is one of the largest organizations for children and was hosted for the 6th time in Turkey.

Child inventors at the ages of 6 to 10 tried to create innovative solutions to the construction problems by using robots designed and programmed by themselves.

12 teams from 4 cities joined the online fair, where “Maker AGÜ” represented Abdullah Gül University.

AGU faculty member Dr. Harika Süklün, research assistants Nehir Gümüşlü Akgün, Aslıhan Atılgan, and Şebnem Soylu, and Society of Women Engineers Club President Ayşe Nur Büyüker supervised the fair and assessed projects.

Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu joined the closing ceremony of the fair with a presentation.

The Little Science Heroes Meet/First Lego League Jr. event aims to acquaint children with STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) at an early age and to teach them teamwork and communication skills by guiding them towards research and design.
