Arya Women's Investment Platform, organizing events to help companies led by women make "Smart Money" investments as well as for sharing of success stories and strengthening the network, held its first event in Anatolia in Kayseri.
Mihrimah Belma Satır, İstanbul Deputy, Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu, AGU Rector, Tahir Nursaçan, Board Chairman of Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone, Bahri Coşkun, Board Member of Kayseri Chamber of Commerce, female entrepreneurs and many invitees joined the event held in the Rectorate Conference Hall of AGU Sumer Campus.
Giving the opening speech of the event, İstanbul Deputy Mihrimah Belma Satır mentioned the number of women in politics and decision-making positions.
She said that around the world there are much worse and much better countries than Turkey in that regard and added that although they increased the number of female politicians and decision-makers a little, the number is below the ideal point.
In his speech, Abdullah Gül University Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu said the main resource of Turkey to reach its big goals is the human power.
Adding that the existing human power should be wisely used, Rector Sabuncuoğlu said: "Turkey has big targets. Turkey's main resource is human power. We are aware that this power cannot be underestimated. Almost half of the population consists of young people. What we can do best is to use this human power in the best way possible."
Tahir Nursaç, the Board Chairman of Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone, said in his speech that it makes them proud that women take part in business world.
Also adding that the number of female entrepreneurs increased in today's world, Nursaçan said: "It is not a small deal that mothers raising children at home adds value to the business world and society with their knowledge, skills and honesty; contributes to the society, state and nation with their productivity. We cannot be proud enough of them."
Saying that it is necessary to realize business projects of women without a moment's delay, Bahri Coşkun, Board Member of Kayseri Chamber of Commerce, stated that in recent years projects and programmes to increase women employment gained importance.
Coşkun said there has been an increase in the numbers of programmes and projects carried out by non-governmental organizations and private sector institutions, especially in the number of female entrepreneurship courses.
Founder of the Women's Investment Platform, Ahu Büyükkuşoğlu, said they organized the first event outside of Istanbul in Kayseri and that she particularly wanted to have the first of Anatolia events in Kayseri.
Büyükkuşoğlu added: "Most importantly, on behalf of our mother Fatos Büyükkuşoğlu, we award Strong Woman Award each year. We give a 20-thousand-dollar award to a woman with a good project, who can represent Turkey domestically and internationally."
Following the speeches, Fatos Büyükkuşoğlu Strong Woman Award was awarded by Arya Women's Investment Platform, the only women-oriented investment platform of Turkey.
The award was presented by Ahu Büyükkuşoğlu, the Founder of Arya Women's Investment Platform, to the recipient Melek Pulatkonak.
The Anatolia event continued with the panel discussions. Within the scope of the event, stands were opened in the foyer area by companies which had received entrepreneurship support by Arya Women's Investment Platform.
