The construction of the new lab building has been completed in a short timespan on the Sümer Campus of Abdullah Gül University (AGU) and is now open for use. The building consists of 26 labs, 13 classrooms, circulation and service areas.

Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu talked at the opening pointing out that the building suits the aims and vision of the university.

Rector Sabuncuoğlu stated if a good amount of preparation is done, the work shows it with its quality and fineness. In that regard, the Rector also stressed the building's architect Han Tümertekin was one of the finest in Turkey.

Architect Han Tümertekin said the building's construction was their daily work as part of the job description, but the time they spent at AGU during this process was beautiful.

Rector Sabuncuoğlu, Architect Han Tümertekin, vice rectors, deans, department chairs and academics took a tour of the building.

The new building houses labs of Civil, Computer, Electrical and Electronics, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering, Life and Natural Sciences, Nanotechnology of Materials Engineering and Architecture departments.

Established on a closed area of 4 thousand 800 square meters, the lab building consists of three layers, a basement, first and second floors.

The building includes a 555 square-meter area for 26 labs, 675 square-meter area for 13 classrooms, and areas for circulation and service.
