At the Conference at AGU, Papers were Presented on Topics of Control Theory, Robotic Systems, Control Applications such as Unmanned Vehicles and Marine Vessels, Energy Systems, etc.

At the Local Conference of the Turkish National Committee of Automatic Control (TOK 2018), held at Abdullah Gül University, papers were presented on many topics from control theory to automation systems, from transportation technologies to energy systems, robotic systems, and control applications such as unmanned vehicles, and marine vessels.

The Automatic Control Local Conference is organized every year to bring together people working in the control field. The TOK 2018 was held jointly by AGU and the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in various simultaneous sessions at the Large Warehouse Meeting Room and Classrooms on the Sümer Campus.

Many researchers joined the conference where the 60th establishment anniversary of the Turkish National Committee of Automatic Control was celebrated.

The conference also aimed at increasing the university-industry cooperation in the control field and encourage young academics to participate. It was organized with the support of the Kayseri Chamber of Industry and under the sponsorship of some companies.

Co-Chairmen of the TOK2018 Steering Committee were Prof. Faruk Keçeci from Abdullah Gül University and Prof. Şeniz Ertuğrul from Istanbul Technical University.

Among the themes of the conference were control theory, control types, automation systems, transportation technologies, energy systems, robotic systems, control applications such as unmanned vehicles, marine vessels and conference papers also covered topics of system dynamics, modeling and analysis, process control, modeling with evolutionary algorithm, control and optimization.

Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu delivered the opening speech of the conference. He said, distinguished researchers, scientists and practitioners present at the conference would contribute greatly to the industry and technology with their work in a new world being shaped afresh with digital and smart systems.

Prof. Sabuncuoğlu said: "We have to create, but not only services and products but also technology and know-how. For that reason, huge tasks fall on our shoulders as scientists. We have to continue innovative activities, scientific work in a cooperative manner benefiting from shared working environments under any conditions."

President of the Turkish National Committee of Automatic Control (TOK) Prof. İbrahim Eksin talked about areas where automatic control technology was used and said that it was implemented in every area from biology to aviation systems.

Co-Chairman of the TOK2018 Steering Committee Prof. Faruk Keçeci from Abdullah Gül University conveyed aims and themes of the conference.

Prof. Şeniz Ertuğrul from Istanbul Technical University, also the Co-Chairman of the TOK2018 Steering Committee, said they aimed to bring together everyone working in the field of control.

The conference continued with various sessions after the opening speeches for three days.
