Abdullah Gül University (AGU) and the Turkish-German University (TAU) discussed cooperation between the two universities.
The Turkish-German University Rector Prof. Halil Akkanat and University Coordinator Prof. İzzet Furgaç visited AGU.
In the meeting held at the Rectorate Senate Room on the Sumer Campus, cooperation between the two universities was discussed.
At the meeting, AGU Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu said the Turkish-German University and Abdullah Gül University shared some common characteristics and cooperation in various areas would be possible.
Prof. Sabuncuoğlu said: "The Turkish-German University brought a new initiative to Turkey. They offer a new higher education model. AGU also has its specific model. It is a new generation university model of which we claim to be the pioneer and which we work to realize fully by blending our education and research missions and maximizing the societal impact. These authentic elements brought us together."
The Turkish-German University Rector Prof. Halil Akkanat said both universities assumed different missions as newly established universities.
In the meeting, AGU's Vice Rector Prof. Cengiz Yılmaz made a presentation showing the academic organization, achievements, mission and vision of the university.
Electrical & Electronics Engineering Chair Prof. Bülent Yılmaz also made a presentation about AGU's education model and its characteristic applications differing from other universities.
In a presentation, the Turkish-German University Coordinator Prof. İzzet Furgaç informed about his university.
After the presentations, the sides exchanged ideas about possible cooperation areas. AGU Vice Rectors, Department Chairs and some faculty members joined the meeting.
The Turkish-German University Rector Prof. Halil Akkanat and University Coordinator Prof. İzzet Furgaç also took a tour of the university and examined labs, classes and other education facilities.
