Abdullah Gül University (AGU) and Istanbul Technical University (ITU) North Cyprus will cooperate in educational, scientific and managerial affairs in order to encourage, improve and support cooperation and collaboration in all areas of education. In the second phase of the cooperation, a consortium is aimed to be built with the Chambers of Industry and Commerce in TRNC and Kayseri.

To that end, a protocol was signed with the two universities in a meeting attended by vice rectors, deans and department heads in the Senate Room on the Sümer Campus.

Making a speech at the meeting, AGU Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu said, thanks to the protocol they singed, it will be possible to exchange academics and students in the future.

Prof. Sabuncuoğlu stated, the agreement inked is an opportunity to join forces when it comes to solutions of many common problems and above all to run joint projects in education and research.

ITU North Cyprus Rector Prof. Ercan Kahya said, they prefer creating synergy between national universities and the cooperation will benefit Cyprus and Kayseri more than the two universities.

Prof. Kahya added, they would like to bring together Chambers of Industry and Commerce in TRNC and Kayseri in a single platform and create a consortium including them and universities.

Afterwards, AGU Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu and ITU North Cyprus Rector Prof. Ercan Kahya signed the protocol.
