Abdullah Gül University Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu and some academics visited a village school on the occasion of the 24th of November, the Teachers' Day, and invited school teachers and students to benefit from university's facilities.

Rector Prof. Sabuncuoğlu and AGU faculty members visited Mustafa Tatar Primary School located in Karpuzsekisi Village of Kayseri's Hacılar district and celebrated the teachers' day with teachers working there.

AGU-Village School Cooperation

On the visit, Prof. Sabuncuoğlu spoke with the Principal Erol Erdoğan and school management and stated that for AGU education starts in the family before school and continues in life after higher education as a life-long learning.

Saying that education prior to university is very significant for raising young people who develop social intelligence and express themselves easily, Sabuncuoğlu pointed at the role of primary and elementary education in raising qualified young people.

Sabuncuoğlu offered the school management cooperation with AGU and afterwards met with students.

Highlighting the importance of education to pass successfully the tough situation and phase our country is in, Sabuncuoğlu said students need to take a lot of responsibility in this matter.

AGU opened its facilities to the village school

Later on, Sabuncuoğlu talked with students and invited them and their teachers to benefit from the privileges of the AGU campus. Sabuncuoğlu said the AGU Children's University carries out activities for every child and gifted children and told students there to join these activities.

The school management, teachers and students expressed their gratitude for the visit of the AGU delegation on the occasion of the Teachers' Day. The school management and teachers expressed their gladness over the offer to use the university's facilities and cooperation possibility.

In addition to the AGU academics, Yunus Özsarı, Hacılar District Director of National Education, and Mustafa Çiftçi, Hacılar District Branch Director of National Education, joined the visit.

Rector Sabuncuoğlu and AGU academics also visited Nuh Mehmet Küçükçalık Anatolian High School, one of the most successful schools in Kayseri, on the same day and celebrated their Teachers' Day.

Sabuncuoğlu talked with the Principal Mehmet Aksoy and joined the Teachers' Day Celebration at the school. Sabuncuoğlu addressed students there and said: "I believe that your current school and any universities where you will study afterwards will raise educated and qualified people that our country needs."

The AGU delegation, teachers and students took group photos to mark the day on both visits.
