Meetings of the Empowering Women in All Aspects Project launched by the Women in Business (İDK) Commission of the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TÜRKONFED) continue.

The first meeting of the project carried out by TÜRKONFED in cooperation with the Central Anatolia Industrialists and Businessmen Confederation (ORSİFED), the Women Commission and the Association for Developing Women Collaboration (KİGDER) was held at Abdullah Gül University, Kayseri.

The meeting was held at the Sümer Campus Conference Hall. At the meeting of the project initiated in 2015 and carried out until today, the place of women in businesses, rate of women managers and statistical information were evaluated.

In the opening speech of the meeting which had the theme of Technology and Women Enterprise this year, AGU Rector Prof. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu said that one of the major reasons for women to take a backseat in business life is their inflexibility in case of traveling and that they need to overcome it.

Prof. Sabuncuoğlu stated that companies run by women often receive investment at the beginning or end and added: "Entrepreneurship is an important area for women to stand out and shine out and we need to use it wisely."

Tarkan Kadooğlu, President of TÜRKONFED, stressed the importance of ameliorating women's status in society and their presence in economy and business.

Kadooğlu said women with skilled labour compose half of the population and economic recovery and development is realized through women's active participation in business life.

Underlining that women are successfully involved in all sectors, KİGDER President Dr. Sema Karaoğlu expressed that presence of women in technology and entrepreneurship should also be increased.

İbrahim Yılmaz, Chairman of the Executive Board of ORSİFED, said that they attach great importance to supporting women in all aspects, empowering them and protecting their societal status.

Afterwards, Münteha Adalı, Investment Leader at Arya Women Investment Platform, moderated the "Technology and Women Enterprise" panel.

KAGİDER Board Member Devrim Erol, TOBB Women Entrepreneurship Council President Hatice Kal and M-GEN Future Planning Center Founding Member and President Ufuk Tarhan joined as panelists and shared their experience and how they used technology.

Representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations and many invitees including Kayseri Chamber of Commerce Vice President Celal Hasnalçacı attended the meeting and the panel.

Additionally, in the foyer area of the Sümer Campus women entrepreneurs set up stands and exhibited their products.
