In the Entrepreneurship Contest held in AGU, students competed, with business ideas they conceived. Students with higher scores were awarded project support.

The contest was held for a second time, this year at the Sümer Campus Conference Hall and organized by KOSGEB (Small and Medium Industry Development Organization) Kayseri Directorate and AGU Industrial Engineering and Business Administration Departments. The contest has the feature of being the first Business Plan Award Contest held in Kayseri.

Students of the "Entrepreneurship" course, which is taught by Industrial Engineering and Business Administration and has been included within the scope of Applied Entrepreneurship Training by KOSGEB, joined the contest and presented business ideas they developed during the course.

Projects presented for the contest were evaluated by a jury composed of Salih Yalçın, Kayseri Representative of Türkiye Quality Association (KALDER), Beyhan Köseoğlu, Member of Women Entrepreneurs Council, Mehmet Yağcıoğlu, Innovation Coordinator at SERA Business Incubator, Assoc. Prof. Alper İşoğlu, AGU TTO Coordinator and Zeynep Tuğçe Çiftçibaşı Güç, AGU Youth Factory Coordinator.

Upon the evaluation, among student projects “Suit Up” came first, “Knowgredients” second and “Biletless” third.

84 students who successfully completed the course were presented KOSGEB Entrepreneurship Certificates. Those students can apply KOSGEB for TL 50-thousand entrepreneurship support thanks to that certificate.

Vice Rector Prof. İrfan Alan congratulated participant students and said that they invite renowned entrepreneurs to the university for various events and thus aim to instill entrepreneurship in students.

KOSGEB Provincial Director Ahmet Özbekler said that they found student projects successful beyond expectations, that they had considerable potential as innovative entrepreneurship projects to be supported by KOSGEB and they were ready for any kind of support.

Asst. Prof. Muhammet Sütçü, who is a faculty member at the Industrial Engineering and teaches the class, reminded that despite being a new university, AGU ranked 17th in the 2015 TÜBİTAK Entrepreneurship Index. Sütçü added: "In the short run, we hope to be in the top 10. We carry out our activities with an awareness for entrepreneurship. We do not want to be outside of this ecosystem. The entrepreneurship course was opened for only Industrial Engineering and Business Administration students last term and starting from this term the course will be requisite for all departments."

The program ended after KOSGEB Entrepreneurship Training Certificates were given to the students of "Entrepreneurship" course.
